For the effectiveness testing, samples of fentanyl and heroin were treated with SoRite Decon at room temperature. The treated samples and reference materials (fentanyl, xylazine and heroin) were analyzed by H1 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) to determine whether the treatment was effective in degrading fentanyl, xylazine and heroin.

The effectiveness of SoRite DECON stems from the potent oxidizing ability of Sodium Chlorite, the primary active ingredient, as well as an effective proprietary blend of other ingredients that comprises the rest of the formula. Decontaminants rely on oxidizing agents to degrade opioids and other narcotics, such as fentanyl, xylazine or heroin. The oxidizing agent in SoRite DECON is much more potent than the oxidizing agents used in other well known decontaminant products.
